Turtles aren’t silent. Although they aren’t likely to be as loud as a dog or cat, turtles make a range of noises, anything from chicken like clucks to dog like barking, depending on the species.

Slaughtered for their eggs, meat, skin and shells, sea turtles suffer from poaching and over exploitation. Nearly all species are classified as endangered, the rest being critically endangered.
